Frequently Asked QuestionsCan ACEC/G recommend using a particular member firm for a specific service? While ACEC/G staff members cannot specifically recommend a member firm to someone requesting a particular service, our Membership Database provides the names of more than 300 consulting engineering firms throughout Georgia. These firms subscribe to the Code of Professional Conduct of the American Council of Engineering Companies and meet the State requirements for practicing consulting engineering. How is ACEC/G affiliated with the American Council of Engineering Companies in Washington, D.C.?ACEC/G is the fourth largest of 51 Member Organizations (MOs) that comprise the American Council of Engineering Companies. Nationally headquartered in Washington, D.C., ACEC does not consist of a separate group of members but instead is made up of the members of all 51 MOs. It is this strength in numbers that allows ACEC to speak with a widely respected, unified voice in matters concerning the engineering profession. Where can I get licensing information for professional engineers and surveyors?Licensing matters are handled by the Georgia Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Is there an on-line database of ACEC/G member information available?Visit the ACEC/G membership database a great source of information on member firms, complete with services offered, location and contact information! How can I join ACEC/G?To find out more about becoming a Regular or Associate member of ACEC/G, please contact Membership Manager Kathy Belcher at 404-521-2324. The application documents are downloadable.. How does ACEC/G membership differ from other professional engineering organizations? There are many professional organizations designed to meet the needs of engineering professionals. ACEC/G is the only organization that protects and promotes the business interests of consulting engineering firms. While most organizations are individual memberships, ACEC/G membership is designed to allow all employees within a member firm to participate in those activities that will best benefit the firm. Firms designate one voting representative, but all employees may attend meetings and seminars. Can non-members participate in ACEC/G events? One of the benefits of membership is the ability to interact and network with decision makers from the top engineering firms in Georgia. While non-members may attend these events, there is an additional charge. Receiving advance notices of these popular meetings is also a great member benefit. Get more information on membership... |
